Officials said that this incident happened due to a rumor. Immediate medical facility is being provided to the injured and the dead are also being identified.

How did the accident happen?
Pushpak Express train (12533) was going from Lucknow to Mumbai. As soon as this train reached between Jalgaon and Pachaura station, a rumor of fire in the train spread. There was sparking in the B-4 coach of the train, when the information reached the passengers, there was chaos. During this time, people pulled the chain. As soon as the train slowed down, about 50 to 60 passengers jumped on the other track. Meanwhile, Karnataka Express (12629) was coming on another route. The passengers who jumped from the Pushpak Express got hit by it and 11 people died. Many people have also been seriously injured, who have been admitted to nearby hospitals.
