Maha Kumbha bath is not easy: Flights for the whole week are full, long waiting in trains, bus fares are doubled

The only regular flight operating from Raipur has been full for the whole week. There is a long waiting list in all the trains running on that route and the bus fares have also doubled. 

Raipur.  It is not easy to take a dip in the Maha Kumbh of Prayagraj. The only regular flight operating from Raipur has been full for a week. There is a long waiting list in all the trains running on that route and the fare of buses has also doubled. Devotees have to struggle a lot not only to go to Prayagraj but also to return. There is a huge crowd in the Maha Kumbh and hundreds of devotees from Chhattisgarh are also going to take a dip in the Ganga. This has had a direct impact on the trains, buses and the only flight going in that direction. 

Every day flights to Prayagraj operate from Raipur's Swami Vivekanand Airport. Since the start of Kumbh Mela, the ticket which was available for seven to eight thousand rupees has increased to 17 to 19 thousand. Harendra Vyas, operator of Vyas Travels, said that the flights were completely full till 27 January, after which the fare has reached 19 to 20 thousand rupees. Similarly, in the Kumbh Special train and other regular trains, the waiting list has crossed a hundred, due to which there is no possibility of confirmation. The bus journey between Raipur and Prayagraj is completed in one thousand, which has increased to two to two and a half thousand because of Kumbh.

Tickets after February 12

The tickets for flights between Raipur and Prayagraj are available regularly at a price of Rs. 20,000 only after February 12. Before this, air tickets to this city are expected to be available on January 28, February 3 and 5. The return journey by plane is also being completed by spending Rs. 20 to 26 thousand. A large number of passengers are also using Via flight to go to Prayagraj.

Buses are also crowded

Buses are operated from Raipur to Prayagraj from other cities including Durg. Those who are not able to travel by flight and do not have the scope of confirmed berth in trains are traveling by buses. Due to the increase in passengers, the fare of buses has also increased from 15 to 2500. President of Chhattisgarh Transport Federation Syed Anwar said that the number of passengers is more than normal.

No room in Sarnath, Kumbh special is also packed

Two to three trains operate from Raipur daily to go to Prayagraj. Apart from this, Kumbh special trains are also being operated by the railway administration. There is no room situation in Sarnath, the waiting list in Gondia-Barauni Express has crossed 150. It has become difficult to get a confirmed ticket in the weekly Kumbh Express as well. Travel in these trains is also expected to become normal after Mahashivratri.
