Lucknow. STF Inspector Sunil Kumar, who killed 4 people of Kagga gang in Shamli encounter of Uttar Pradesh, has been martyred. He was shot in this encounter, after which he was being treated. He breathed his last in Medanta Hospital. Sunil Kumar had killed many big criminals during his tenure. UP is saddened by his death. His last rites will be performed today. Here CM Yogi has ordered to intensify the campaign to catch the reward-carrying criminals.
His son Manjeet was crying inconsolably while hugging the body of the martyred inspector. Manjeet was repeatedly pleading that Papa, please speak something. Please speak once. Everyone's eyes were moist after listening to the emotional cry of the son. In a short while, the last rites of the inspector will be performed in his native village. ADG, IG, SSP paid tribute to the STF inspector. Everyone together shouldered his body. The martyred inspector's wife Munesh and daughter Neha were not able to control themselves even when someone tried to hold them. Everyone was crying bitterly.
54-year-old Sunil Kumar is survived by his wife and two children. Both children are married. Sunil was a resident of Mussoorie village in Meerut. He became a constable in UP on 1 September 1990. After the formation of Special Task Force, he did commando course in Haryana (Manesar) in 1997. He joined STF on 1 January 2009. He was in STF for 16 years. Sunil Kumar killed the wanted criminal Ambika Patel alias Thokia in 2008. In 2012-13, many people including Sushil alias Mustache, Badan Singh alias Baddo were arrested and sent to jail. On 24 June 2019, Bhaura Kalan was killed in an encounter. On 04 May 2023, gangster Anil Nagar alias Anil Dujana was killed in an encounter.
