Following yet another underwhelming batting performance in the present Ranji Trophy match between Mumbai and Jammu and Kashmir, India skipper Rohit Sharma is receiving harsh criticism from supporters and online users. Rohit’s troubles in both local and international cricket have led to several demands for his retirement due to his dismal form.

Rohit, who plays for Mumbai at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy, was ineffective in both innings. In the first innings, he scored only three runs as Mumbai was dismissed for 120. Despite getting off to a fast start in the second innings with 28 runs off 35 balls, Rohit was dismissed by a spectacular one-handed catch by Abid Mushtaq after he fell to a wayward shot.

He only amassed 91 runs in three games, averaging 15, in India’s most recent Test series against New Zealand. The squad lost 3-0, and Rohit’s poor play was widely criticized.

In order to attend the birth of his second kid, Rohit skipped the first Test match during India’s tour to Australia. Despite India’s early series advantage, Rohit’s comeback was unsatisfactory. He only managed to score 31 runs in three games, with a peak score of 10. The skipper chose not to play in the final Test match in Sydney after India’s 3-1 series loss.

Rohit is under tremendous pressure to go back to his best as India gets ready for the Champions Trophy and a three-match ODI series against England next month. On social media, fans have expressed their worries. Many have questioned his position on the squad and called for his resignation.
