Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak stated it is “better late than never” in a barely disguised jab at Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav for taking a sacred bath in the Triveni Sangam during Maha Kumbh 2025.
Late is better than never. He saw today’s surge of faith. He needs to stop making pointless remarks. He saw firsthand how people go from all over the globe to Sanatan, which is open to everyone and has excellent amenities,” Pathak told the media report.
Akhilesh Yadav of the SP emphasized earlier on Sunday that the Kumbh Mela is not a venue for “divisive or negative politics” and that its hallowed qualities should be maintained after swimming at Triveni Sangam.
After taking a holy plunge, Yadav told reporters, “People come here with their faith. I made eleven holy dips. Negative and polarizing politics have no place here.It was a celebration the day I went swimming in Haridwar. I had the chance to take a holy bath here today.
He voiced his displeasure with the administration’s plans for the senior attendees of the event.
“This tragedy shouldn’t be turned into a sporting event by the government. I’ve seen that elderly individuals traveling from different locations should have been managed so that no one has any challenges,” Yadav said.
Deputy Chief Minister Pathak responded to Yadav’s criticism by telling him to stop making “unnecessary comments.”
Brajesh Pathak also discussed Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s Monday visit to Prayagraj.
“We are thrilled to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah ji when he arrives here. On behalf of the 25 crore residents of Uttar Pradesh, I would want to thank him for inspiring the nation’s young and for his affection for them,” Pathak told ANI.
An official announcement said that Shah would take a sacred bath at the Triveni Sangam after arriving in Prayagraj on Monday at 11:25 AM.
After that, he would go to Abhayvat and the Bade Hanuman Ji Temple. The minister will next go to Juna Akhara, where he will have lunch with the Maharaj and other Akharan saints.
Shah’s itinerary also includes trips to the Ashram of Guru Sharananand Ji, where he will meet Govind Giri Ji Maharaj and Guru Sharananand Ji. He will also meet with the Shankaracharyas of Puri, Dwaraka, and Sringeri to wrap up his trip.
Every twelve years, the Maha Kumbh is celebrated, and Prayagraj is anticipated to see a massive influx of believers from January 13 to February 26.
The event, which has its roots in Sanatan Dharma, represents a heavenly alignment that brings forth a favorable time for devotion and spiritual purification.
Over 45 crore people are anticipated to attend the Mahakumbh Mela, which would be a historic event for India.
