The news of Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates' divorce with Melinda French , after 27 years of marriage, came as a shock to many in May 2021. And now, roughly four years after their divorce, Bill Gates opened up in a recent interview that he considers it a "mistake" which he regrets the most. He also shared that for two years after their divorce, the decision made both his and Melinda's life miserable.

"Melinda and I still see each other-- we have three children and two grandchildren so there are family events. The kids are doing well. They have good values," Gates told the Times of London.

Talking about how Melinda and he met and married each other, and how their divorce deeply saddened him, Gates further said, "When Melinda and I met, I was fairly successful but not ridiculously successful — that came during the time that we were together. So, she saw me through a lot. When we got divorced it was tough and then she made the decision to leave the foundation-- I was disappointed that she took the option to go off."

In an earlier interview, Melinda French had shared that Bill Gates' friendship with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was one of the “many things” which led to their divorce. “I did not like that he had meetings with Jeffrey Epstein, no. I made that clear to him,” Melinda had told CBS Mornings host Gayle King back in 2022. Meanwhile, Gates also allegedly had a relationship with a Microsoft employee in 2019 which contributed to his divorce to Melinda.

While the divorce has been rough for both Bill Gates and Melinda French, the duo seem to have moved on in life with both of them dating other people now. Here's whom Bill Gates and Melinda French are currently dating:

1. Bill Gates and Paula Hurd

Roughly two years after his divorce with Melinda French, Bill Gates found love in Paula Hurd, who is a philanthropist from Silicon Valley. Paula Hurd is the widow of Mark Hurd-- Oracle CEO, who died in 2019 after battling cancer. The former couple have two children together. Her LinkedIn profile reveals that she hosted events for corporate, personal and charitable occasions; and she has previously also worked as a tech executive.

Paula Hurd and Bill Gates started dating around February 2023, and the duo are often spotted together at events. In fact, Paula had even accompanied Bill Gates to Anant Ambani's pre-wedding celebration at Jamnagar in Gujarat.

2. Melinda French and Philip Vaughn

Meanwhile, Melinda French has also moved on since her divorce with Bill Gates. She briefly dated Jon Du Pre, a former Fox News correspondent, for two years before calling it quits in April 2024.

Melinda then started dating Philip Vaughn; the couple were spotted at events and dates when the news of their relationship broke in 2024. Philip Vaughn earlier worked with Microsoft for roughly nine years, as per his LinkedIn profile. He is now the Founder and Chairman of Tavour-- a craft beer delivery company, which was launched in 2011.
