Moradabad: Following the rush in Mahakumbh, former MP and leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), ST Hasan, voiced his grave concerns and blasted the authorities for their poor handling of the situation.

“It is very unfortunate that such a major incident occurred at Kumbh yesterday, even when claims were made that all arrangements had been made,” Hasan stated in response to the incident.

He emphasized the Kumbh’s purity, characterizing it as a sacred occasion when people congregate to ask for forgiveness and blessings from God. “Kumbh is a sacred occasion. People ask for forgiveness of their sins and remember God. Politics shouldn’t be involved,” he said.

Hasan clarified, nevertheless, that more preparation may have avoided the rush, which claimed many lives. He called on the Uttar Pradesh chief minister to act swiftly and firmly against those in charge of the situation’s poor management. “I urge our Chief Minister to take strict action against the officers whose negligence led to this incident,” said Hasan.

“When they knew that a huge crowd would be there today, why were proper arrangements not made?” he said, casting doubt on the authorities’ readiness. He went on to say that the unfortunate situation was caused by clearly inadequate preparations.

This occurred because the arrangements were deficient in some way. We gained a negative reputation in the eyes of the world. “This is unacceptable,” Hasan remarked.

Leaders from all political parties, meanwhile, sent their condolences for the terrible event that took place early on Wednesday morning and left thirty people dead and several more injured.

Speaking to the media, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Vaibhav Krishna said that 25 corpses had been found. “Unfortunately, 30 people lost their lives in the stampede that occurred at Prayagraj’s Mahakumbh. He said, “Twenty-five corpses have been recognized, and the remaining five have not yet been identified.

According to the DIG, 36 persons are receiving treatment at a nearby medical institution, and four of the dead are from Karnataka, one from Assam, and one from Gujarat.

The government of Uttar Pradesh has stated that the relatives of the dead would get Rs 25 lakh in financial help. Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, has also ordered a judicial investigation and said that a committee would report back to the state government in a certain amount of time.

Justice Harsh Kumar, former DG VK Gupta, and retired IAS officer DK Singh will lead a three-member judicial committee. Throughout the day, we have been keeping an eye on the whole situation from the control rooms of the CM, Chief Secretary, and DGP,” he said. Chief Minister Yogi has delayed his trip to Delhi for the election campaign on Friday in order to keep an eye on the situation in Mahakumbh.

The episode was described as “heart-wrenching” by Yogi. He sent his “deepest condolences” to each and every family.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, offered his respects to the devotees who lost their lives in the disaster. According to him, the Uttar Pradesh government was working to make sure Mah Kumbh would continue to be a success despite the “challenging” job of handling the massive number of pilgrims.

Raghav Chaddha, the head of the Aam Aadmi Party, said that the Uttar Pradesh government has to reevaluate its plans in order to prevent such tragedies in the future.

“I ask Mahadev to provide peace to the departed’s spirits. I wish the wounded a speedy recovery. Chaddha told reporters, “The government should review their preparations to make them better and avoid such incidents in the future.”
