Mamta Kulkarni expelled from Kinnar Akhada, new Acharya Mahamandaleshwar to be announced

Mamta Kulkarni former Bollywood actress has been expelled from her position as the Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhada. Along with her Laxmi Narayan Tripathi has also been dismissed from the position of Acharya Mahamandaleshwar. Both have been expelled from the Akhada. This action was taken by Ajay Das the founder of the Kinnar Akhada.
Ajay Das announced on Friday that the Kinnar Akhada will undergo a complete restructuring. He also revealed that a new Acharya Mahamandaleshwar will be appointed soon. It’s worth noting that Mamta Kulkarni’s appointment as Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhada had been surrounded by controversy with many questioning how a woman could hold such a position in the Akhada.
A few days ago Mamta Kulkarni performed the pind-daan ritual at the ongoing Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj Uttar Pradesh and embraced the path of sanyas. Following this she was appointed as the Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhada in a grand ceremony. Her new name was given as Shri Yamai Mamta Nand Giri. She spent seven days at the Mahakumbh but since then there has been ongoing controversy regarding her appointment with many questioning why a woman was chosen as the Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhada.
Mamta Kulkarni had explained that Laxmi Narayan Tripathi understood her 23 years of spiritual dedication. She was tested and she passed the examination. As a result she was invited to become the Mahamandaleshwar. She also stated that she would not return to Bollywood and instead focus on promoting Sanatan Dharma.
