New Delhi: Delivery platforms like Zomato Zepto Blinkit and Swiggy have gained significant traction in the rapidly evolving landscape of on-demand delivery services as they offer convenience to consumers as well as employment opportunities for many. Have you ever thought how much money do these delivery boys make per order? Delivery boys receive a base pay per order which can vary. depending on factors such as location demand and the specific company. On average a delivery boy can earn between Rs 30 and Rs 100 per order. The more deliveries a delivery boy completes in a single shift the higher their earnings. Regardless of the order amount whether it is Rs 100 or Rs 1000 the delivery boy is paid according to the distance. A survey conducted by AajTak.in revealed that a delivery boy named Shivam Pandey who has been doing grocery delivery work for the last six months stated that the rider does not earn much. They undertake 35-40 rides a day with fluctuations. Shivam mentioned that for a one-kilometer ride the delivery boy receives 10-15 rupees. Sometimes this amount increases and sometimes it decreases. On average the rider earns 9 rupees per kilometer. How to get a delivery boy job? A delivery boy mentioned that to join the online grocery delivery app they must create an account on the companys app. For this they need to provide an Aadhaar card and another identity card. After filling in all the required details and submitting them to the company they can start receiving work. He also noted that anyone taking up this job must arrange for their own vehicle. Does the delivery boy get any incentive? In addition to the base pay delivery personnel can benefit from various incentives. These incentives may include bonuses for completing a certain number of deliveries within a specified time frame peak hour bonuses during busy periods and referral bonuses for bringing in new delivery personnel. Such incentives can substantially boost their overall income making the role more financially rewarding. If the delivery boy has an accident Accidents can occur during the delivery of goods and the company ensures that measures are in place to address this. All delivery personnel have the option to obtain insurance; however they must deposit an amount to the company for this benefit. According to a delivery person the company requires a one-time payment of Rs 1500. In the event of an accident during duty the company covers the entire expense. What if a customer misbehaves? It is often observed that if a delivery boy misbehaves with a customer the customer has the option to complain. However what happens if the situation is reversed and the delivery boy faces misbehavior? When inquired about this Vishal mentioned that delivery boys also have the right to protect themselves and not tolerate any misbehavior from anyone. To address such incidents the company provides an emergency button in the app for any misbehavior. If the delivery person presses it a call is immediately made to the local police and action is taken promptly. Additionally a police complaint can be filed against the customer.
