In partnership with the transnational education organization GUS Global Services (GGS), the University of Surrey is scheduled to launch its International Branch Campus in GIFT City, Gujarat. According to the International Branch Campus Regulations, the project, which is at a pre-delivery advanced stage, is subject to regulatory clearance from Gujarat’s International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA).
The India campus will combine GGS India’s capabilities as a strategic partner for higher education providers with the University of Surrey’s teaching and research excellence in business, international finance, computer science, cybersecurity, and other fields in line with GIFT City’s strategic vision. Staff from the University of Surrey will oversee and provide all academic and instructional assurance. GGS will provide ancillary services including operations management, student enrollment, campus setup, and strategic guidance on entering India.
“In an increasingly globalized world, the University of Surrey campus in GIFT City will serve as a beacon of British educational impact and quality, fostering transnational learning. We are honored and thrilled to be a part of the GIFT City narrative, which will bring together the academic and teaching capabilities of the University of Surrey in business, finance, and computer science with India’s strengths in the global financial industry.
“Students can anticipate receiving a top-notch education in the center of a booming new global financial and technological powerhouse for the area.” We will work together to support our nations’ development and skill-related priorities.
The goal of this effort is to increase the number of international learning opportunities and top-notch academic standards offered in India. It will provide Indian students the chance to get life-changing education without having to go abroad. The partnership supports India’s higher education objectives, which include enhancing global competitiveness, providing top-notch instruction locally, and supporting the internationalization focus of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
