Veteran South actress Bhanupriya known for her memorable roles in films like Swarnakamalam Rishyasringan Sitaara and Chatrapathi has had an illustrious career spanning decades. The 54-year-old is also a talented Kuchipudi dancer and has a deep-rooted passion for this craft. Bhanupriya has herself spoken about her early fascination with dance. I started learning dance in my childhood. After school I prioritised dance over homework. I would choreograph steps to songs I heard on the radio and that’s when my family enrolled me in formal training. That skill later became my greatest asset in cinema. the actress revealed Bhanupriya quit acting at peak due to memory loss Well Bhanupriya has long stepped away from the world of glitz and glam and reportedly now resides with her mother and brother. In an interview with journalist Yagna Murthy Buddhi the actress opened up about her health. Bhanupriya shared that she has been struggling with memory loss since the passing of her husband nearly four years ago. Talking about the challenges she encountered due to her memory loss the actress said I am unable to memorise things that I should be doing; and after the shoot began I forgot my lines during one instance. This has been happening for about two years. In 1998 Bhanupriya was married to Adarsh Kaushal. She was living separately from her husband since 2005. Upon her husbands death in 2018 due to cardiac arrest the actress revealed she was finding quite difficult to keep things in memory which later made things worse for her in the last two years. The Rajashilpi actress also revealed that she enjoys life away from the spotlight. She prefers staying at home reading books and taking care of her daily chores. Bhanupriya has a daughter Abhinaya with her late husband Adarsh. Bhanupriya was last seen in director Sandhya Raju’s romantic drama Natyam where she played a small role.
