This Bollywood actor chose the film industry over following his father and brother into politics. He started his career with leading roles but gradually took on supporting roles. When things didn’t work out he decided to take a break from acting. After his hiatus the Bollywood star made a spectacular comeback that left the theater audience in awe. Still couldnt figure out which actor we were talking about.
Today we are discussing Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh who is now a successful actor director and producer. He made his Bollywood debut in 2003 with the film Tujhe Meri Kasam. In addition to his work in Hindi cinema he has also established himself as a successful director in Marathi films.
Riteish hails from a prominent political family in Maharashtra. He is the son of the late Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh. His two brothers Amit and Dheeraj Deshmukh continue to carry forward their father’s political legacy.
After Tujhe Meri Kasam Riteish appeared in several comedies including Masti Kya Kool Hai Hum Hey Baby Malamal Weekly Dhamaal Housefull and Double Dhamaal in which he often played supporting roles.
As his popularity began to wane he took a break from acting. However when he returned to the screen as a villain the audience was left stunned. In 2014 he portrayed a villain in Ek Villain a role that sent chills down viewers spines.

Riteish’s portrayal of a villain in Ek Villain shocked the audience. The movie which also starred Siddharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor saw Riteish steal the limelight.
Made on a budget of Rs 39 crore Ek Villain performed spectacularly at the box office earning four times its budget and making director Mohit Suri incredibly successful. With a collection of Rs 105.62 crore it became one of the most successful films of Riteish Deshmukh’s career.
In 2022 Riteish starred in the Marathi film Ved which he directed and produced alongside his wife Genelia DSouza. The film made a massive impact at the box office.
Last year Riteish appeared in Kakuda with Sonakshi Sinha and Sakhib Saleem. His role in the film was in a darker shade and it turned out to be quite a fun character.
