The Premier League have confirmed a 'lack of evidence' saw awarded a priceless equaliser against .
The Blues had initially found themselves behind through Jarrod Bowen's goal. But Enzo Maresca's side rallied as Pedro Neto fired home on the rebound.
It took a long time for his strike to be confirmed as VAR checked for a marginal offside - a touch from Marc Guiu potentially ruling Marc Cucurella offside earlier in the move. But after a second viewing, there was not enough evidence to prove that the Spanish forward had even touched the ball.
A statement from the read: "The referee’s call of goal was checked and confirmed by the VAR as there was no factual evidence that Guiu made contact with the ball in the build-up, therefore there was no offside offence."
There was also a second issue for VAR to examine in the build up to the goal as West Ham captain claimed he was fouled by Levi Colwill on the halfway line. But that claim was waved away, with it being suggested that the incident was not even in the same attacking phase anyway.
