Sinèad Keenan and Sanjeev Bhaskar are gearing up for another season return of the fan-favourite crime drama Unforgotten. Fans have been eagerly waiting for series six with the new episodes premiering on Sunday (February 9).

Sinèad and Sanjeev are set to reprise their roles of DCI Jessica James and DI Sunny Khan, with many newcomers also signed up to make their debut on season six.

The guest cast is set to include MyAnna Buring, Elham Elas, Victoria Hamilton and Max Fairley, along with Jan Francis and Damien Molony.

Fans will be pleased to learn that Andrew Lancel will also be continuing in his role as Jess's husband Steve. Kate Robbins is also back on-screen as Jessie's mother Kate.

Speaking ahead of the new series Sinèad paid tribute to one particular guest star, who she'd really bonded with. She declared: "Oh, they were all brilliant. All brilliant. I didn't have an awful lot to do with MyAnna Buring – they just sent Sunny over to Ireland because Jess has to deal with stuff at home – so that was unfortunate, but Victoria Hamilton was extraordinary.

"It was so lovely working with her and Max Fairley, who's a relatively new actor, who was brilliant, plays Marty. And Elham Ehsas playing Asif – all just really brilliant actors and working with really good material. All well-written and well-rounded characters from Chris."

When thinking about a favourite scene from this season, Sinèad struggled to pinpoint a moment that stood out so instead paid homage to one person who had really shone on set.

Sinèad revealed: "I have to say, everyone was brilliant this year. In those interview scenes, you are up close and personal, watching some brilliant actors do their thing.

"But watching and acting with Victoria Hamilton was quite something. She is so brilliant and so lovely with it. That was a real pleasure. I was very lucky. "

In new episodes, suspected human remains are discovered on Whitney Marsh, with Jess and Sunny changing their plans to head to the crime scene.

The synopsis further details: "Dr Balcombe's analysis reveals that the remains are relatively recent and suggest a grim conclusion: the body was placed there already dismembered. With this insight, Jess and Sunny intensify their search certain that other body parts may not be far away."

Unforgotten season 6 will premiere on ITV1 and ITVX on Sunday 9th February at 9pm.
