World Cancer Day: The number of cancer patients in the country is continuously increasing. According to data from the National Cancer Registry of the Indian Council of Medical Research, 14,96,972 cancer patients were registered in 2023. By 2025, the number of cancer patients is expected to increase by 10 percent. Young people are becoming the biggest victims of cancer. In which lung cancer in men and breast cancer incidence in women have increased. In addition, the risk of lymphoid leukemia has increased by the age of 14.

According to the ICMR report released today on the occasion of World Cancer Day, one in every nine person in India is likely to get cancer due to the changing lifestyle. It is also feared that the number of cancer patients will increase by 10 percent.

Smoking is the biggest cause of cancer

According to health experts, 40 percent of cancer in India is caused by smoking. The biggest cause of cancer in India is tobacco consumption. If people stay away from tobacco, about 10 percent of people can be saved from the risk of cancer.

Breast cancer rate has increased in women

Incidents of breast cancer are continuously increasing in women. After 30 years, the number of women dying of breast cancer has also increased due to lack of regular checkup and ignoring normal pain. The reason behind this is poor lifestyle and genetics. Women should conduct regular checks at the age of 25 to prevent breast cancer.
