Actress Shweta Gautam , known for her nuanced performances, is currently seen playing the role of Hema, Suman's mother, in the popular television show Suman Indori . Produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah under Studio LSD, the show has been winning hearts with its compelling storytelling and relatable characters. In a candid conversation, Shweta shares her excitement about her role, the leap in the show, and her thoughts on the evolving entertainment industry.

For Shweta Gautam, portraying Hema has been a rewarding experience. “Yes, I love my show Suman Indori, and yes, definitely! The character has been shaped very well. I love the simplicity and strength in this character, which makes it very special, and I’m truly enjoying it,” she expresses enthusiastically.

With Suman Indori having taken a small leap, expectations are running high. Shweta is optimistic about this transition and believes it has brought a fresh perspective to the show. “My expectations for the leap are fantastic! We are really looking forward to achieving higher ratings. I love the story of Suman Indori—I think it stands out from many other shows currently on air. After the leap, I expect even more love from the audience.”

With the leap comes a transformation in the character's appearance, and Shweta Gautam is embracing this change wholeheartedly. “Yes, definitely! There is a significant change. While the character’s personality remains the same—because I portray a positive woman and will continue to do so—there is a notable transformation in my look. It is now much richer and classier. I’m sure the audience will notice the difference quite clearly.”

Despite the ever-changing television landscape, Suman Indori has managed to retain a dedicated audience. Shweta believes the secret lies in the show being relatable. “I believe our audience loves us because our show is highly relatable. The characters, especially within the Shama family, feel very real. Whether it’s the mother, the bua, or the way I interact with my two daughters, viewers can connect with them on a personal level. What truly works in our favor is our teamwork, positive attitude, hard work, and of course, the great story and our fantastic producer Prateek Sharma.”

Having been in the industry for over 25 years, Shweta Gautam has witnessed a significant transformation in the way characters and storytelling are approached. Staying true to one’s artistic vision while adapting to evolving trends is a challenge she navigates with wisdom and experience.

She says, “This is quite challenging because, as an artist with over 25 years in the industry, I have witnessed significant changes. Initially, we focused on truly embodying a character. However, nowadays, there is a strong emphasis on glamour—everyone wants to look good rather than fully like their character. For example, if someone plays a mother, they might still want to look like a bhabhi or a chachi, just slightly older than their on-screen daughter. But why? I believe a mother should look like a mother. That said, times have changed, and to stay relevant and grow, we must evolve. So, while I try to stay true to my art, I also adapt to industry trends. There are many creative minds involved—producers, channels, and other professionals—so I prefer to focus on what I can do best. Passion is the key that keeps me going.”
