Khushi Kapoor on what she would have changed in 'The Archies': 'It had to be made clear that the film is catering to a younger audience'
Khushi Kapoor , who made her debut in ' The Archies ', recently shared her thoughts on the film. Looking back, she said that if she could change one thing, it would be the way the movie was marketed. She felt it should have been clearer that 'The Archies' was mainly meant for a younger audience.
In a conversation with Indian Express, Khushi reflected on 'The Archies' and suggested that its marketing could have done a better job of conveying that the film was intended for a younger audience. She felt the movie itself didn’t need any changes, as it was designed for a specific age group. Noting that viewers under 16 enjoyed it the most, she pointed out that not every film has to cater to a wide audience.
Addressing the criticisms, the ' Loveyapa ' actress acknowledged that everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether positive or negative, and that it's something beyond her control. However, she has no regrets about being part of 'The Archies', describing it as a valuable learning experience. She credited Zoya Akhtar for shaping her journey and shared that she has a strong emotional bond with the film and the people involved in it.
The Archies got a lot of attention, both excitement and criticism, because it starred star kids like Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan, and Khushi Kapoor. Khushi admitted that coming from a well-known family brings higher expectations. She accepted that criticism is a part of the industry and something she can't change.
Khushi admitted that the film industry isn’t a level playing field and stressed the importance of acknowledging one’s advantages. While she believes hard work is important, she pointed out that the real issue is when people downplay their advantages and act as if everyone faces the same struggles.
Looking back at the pressure around The Archies, Khushi said that people had already formed opinions about the film even before its first look was released. She believes that no matter how much effort is put in, opinions are unavoidable. For her, the best approach is to stay focused and give her best to the work.
On the work front, Khushi Kapoor will be seen in 'Loveyapa' alongside Junaid Khan, Aamir Khan’s son. She is also set to star in ' Nadaaniyan ' opposite Ibrahim Ali Khan, Saif Ali Khan’s son.
