Pooja Hegde recently made headlines after unintentionally referring to her blockbuster film ' Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo ' as a Tamil movie instead of Telugu. During an interview with ANI, the actress had a momentary lapse, mistakenly identifying the language of the film in which she starred alongside Allu Arjun .

The video has sparked a social media split amongst fans and movie lovers. Despite being one of her most notable projects, the mix-up caught fans' attention, especially as 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' remains a defining success in Telugu cinema . Directed by Trivikram Srinivas , the action drama revolves around Bantu, played by Allu Arjun , who grows up under the harsh treatment of his father. His life takes a drastic turn when he discovers he was switched at birth and is, in fact, the son of a wealthy businessman.

The film, which also starred Pooja Hegde as the female lead alongside an ensemble cast including Jayaram, Tabu, Sushanth, Nivetha Pethuraj, and Murali Sharma, was both a critical and commercial success. Its massive popularity eventually led to a Bollywood remake, 'Shehzada', featuring Kartik Aaryan in the lead role. However, fans were a bit disappointed by her remark, as the film had brought her significant fame. One fan called it ‘shameless’, while others supported her, commenting, ‘She could have mistakenly said it’ on X (formerly Twitter).

On the work front, Pooja Hegde was last seen alongside Shahid Kapoor in 'Deva', directed by Rosshan Andrrews. She will soon share the screen with Suriya in 'Retro' and Thalapathy Vijay in 'Jana Nayagan'.

Allu Arjun, who is riding on the success of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', is reportedly in discussions for a collaboration with Trivikram Srinivas on a grand mythological project.
