One Celebrity Bear Hunt star thought he was "going to die" while taking part in the new series. The programme, which lands on the streaming site on 5 February, is led by Bear Grylls and sees celebrities dropped into the Costa Rican jungle and hunted by him.

Bear appeared on on the day of Celebrity Bear Hunt's launch to talk about the series, giving fans an insight into what they can expect to see. While chatting to and Ed Balls, it was revealed that one celeb, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, feared for his life while filming the Netflix show.

Speaking on on Wednesday, Bear revealed: "I gave them a whole bunch of training beforehand. But, you never really let your guard down until everyone's safe at the end. I said to them, you'll all be alive, but I can't promise you won't have some scars, scratches, bruises."

Susanna then pointed out: "Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen said this morning he thought he was going to die on your Bear Hunt! I think he turned out not to be quite as big and strong as he hoped!"

It was reported that he became tangled in a bungee rope before Bear managed to save him.

Speaking about the ordeal, Laurence remained tight-lipped in a bid not to spoil anything, telling Radio Times: "I'm not going to blow too much of the surprise but it was literally, I think, one of the few times I have come face to face with mortality."
