Ishika Taneja, who starred in a couple of films and several music videos, announced her decision to quit showbiz and take up the spiritual path by turning into a 'sadhvi'. She visited the Maha Kumbh Mela on January 29, on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya, and she took a holy dip to start her life afresh.Post taking the dip, she vowed to promote Sanatan Dharma and urged all young women to step forward and embrace the path of Sanatan.Who is Ishika Taneja?Ishika Taneja was crowned as Miss World Tourism in 2018 and in 2016, she received the Rashtrapati Award in the 100 Women Achievers of India category by the then-President Pranab Mukherjee.In 2017, she starred in the film, Indu Sarkar, directed by ace filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar. Promising to encourage other young women to adopt the Sanatan life, Ishika stated that women were not meant to dance around wearing tiny clothes, but were rather made to serve the Sanatan.She also denied claims that turning into a sadhvi was a publicity stunt, and assured that she would never return to her 'old life'. "If I get a chance, I'll produce movies, but in those too, I will promote Sanatan Dharma," she said.
