The actor's ex-wife Nandita Puri had written a book on him. In which she had told that when he was 14 years old, he had sex with a 55-year-old maid. At that time he was at his maternal uncle's house. She told that the lights of the house had gone off and Om Puri caught the maid and had sex with her. She was his first love.
Apart from this, he told that Om Puri had hired a woman to take care of his ailing father. He had a relationship with her. She was 37 years old at that time. Om Puri had said- 'For me she was not a maid. She used to take care of everyone in our house. My father was 80 years old and there was no one to take care of him. Then she came and I met her. The actor had talked about his death in an interview in 2015 and said that his death would be sudden. Regarding this, he had said that "You will not even know about death. You will die while sleeping. You must know about my death that Om Puri died yesterday morning at 7:22 am" and while saying this he laughed. And something similar happened at the time of his death. Om Puri's body was found naked in his house. The cause of his death was said to be a heart attack. But he died in 2017 at the age of 66.
