There is an ease that comes with , as people can enter the departures lounge by simply scanning their mobile.

And with plenty of charging ports within the , a phone with a drained battery can always be recharged.

However, technical glitches do happen, which is why some people might prefer to carry a .

Are you one of those people who like to have both a digital and printed version of their boarding pass before they get onto a ? But, if you had to choose, which one would you prefer - a digital or printed boarding pass? And could you say why you would pick one over the other?

One devout digital ally recently switched from a digital boarding pass to a paper one after their phone screen "died in the boarding line".

On the , the contributor said they were once "100% digital" until that incident, so now they print their boarding pass - even if it's only as a "backup".

Others have a preference for digital or printed paper boarding passes, depending on where they are flying to.

"Printed all the time on international [flights]," another Reddit contributor posted. "For domestic, I [...] tend to use digital when actually boarding."

In agreement, another added: "Digital if domestic, printed if international - especially with a second leg that originates in another country."

Some, however, have their reasons for choosing paper-based boarding passes.

As somebody else explained: "If it's a personal, leisure or vacation flight, I use printed because I can't wait to be able to turn my phone off."

While someone else admitted: "I can't even remember a time that I intentionally printed a boarding pass."
