Vote counting for the 70 assembly seats begins Saturday at 8 am, with trends expected around 10:00 am and final results likely by 1 pm. The main contenders are the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), currently in power, and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has been in the opposition since 1998. The Congress party also participated and could influence the outcome.

Electronic voting machines are secured in 70 strong rooms, one for each constituency, under tight security at 19 locations across Delhi, according to Chief Electoral Officer R Alice Vaz.
AAP senior Saurabh Bharadwaj stated, “Exit polls have always shown AAP getting fewer votes. But in several areas of my constituency, people stopped their vehicles to tell me AAP would win.” AAP campaigned on its record in health, education, and providing free or subsidized services like power, water, and bus rides.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva expressed confidence, saying, “Our victory will be more spectacular than what exit polls show.” BJP has promised to continue existing welfare schemes and introduce new ones, emphasizing development under a “double-engine government.”
Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav commented, “Our efforts will be converted into a vote bank. We worked diligently at the grassroots level to revive our cadre.” Congress highlighted the development that occurred during Sheila Dikshit’s tenure as Chief Minister from 1998 to 2013.
