Most players start cricket training at a very young age. They are able to make a place in Team India only on the basis of the qualities taught by their childhood coach. But after reaching the Indian team, players become very busy. At the same time, due to staying away from domestic matches, they rarely meet their initial coach. In such a situation, they are never able to give Guru Dakshina to their childhood coach. However, they never forget him and are always ready to help him whenever needed. Indian team veteran Ashish Nehra also did the same once. He also helped his guru in the most difficult times.
Recently, commentator and sports broadcaster Padamjeet Sehrawat shared a story of Ashish Nehra and his childhood coach Tarak Sinha. During an interview, he said that once Tarak Sinha, the coach of Delhi's Sonnet Cricket Academy, was in trouble. Ashish Nehra took training from him. Even after being in Team India, he often used to go to him for practice. Once he came to know that his coach's landlord had given a notice to vacate the house. In the next 3 days, he bought a new house and gave it to him.
According to Padamjeet Sehrawat, when Nehra reached the academy one day, Tarak Sinha was 1 hour late. On this Nehra jokingly said to him, 'Sir, if you come so late, what will you teach the children.' After this his coach said, 'Son, you live in a palace, I live in a rented house. The landlord has given a notice to vacate the house. That's why I was looking for a house, there will be a delay.' After this, the academy remained closed for two days due to rain. On the third day, Nehra himself surprised him by buying a house for him.
On the third day, Nehra came 3 hours late. This time his coach questioned him on his delay. Then Ashish Nehra said, 'Why are you so late today, Test cricketer?' Then Nehra replied, 'Your Gurudev is living in a rented house, it takes time to buy straw.' Saying this, he handed over the keys to his coach and said that there is work going on in the house right now, you can shift in 10 days.
