Famed chef and restaurateur James Martin is shifting his focus from television to his upcoming tour, but he's confessed to having some stage fright. In an interview with Cotswold Life magazine, Martin spoke about his fifth tour, which will cover England, Wales, and , but admitted he's worried about not meeting expectations.

He listed some of the "serious" venues he'll be performing at, including Birmingham Symphony Hall, Newcastle 02, and Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, and shared his concern about disappointing the audience. "If I walked out there and was rubbish...", he trailed off, clearly dreading the thought.

Despite his nerves, Martin is thrilled to be performing in front of large crowds and promises a unique experience that's different from his Saturday morning show. "People think the live shows are going to be like my Saturday morning show, but it's really not - it's fast-paced, fun comedy, made by a great team and it is really cool."

James shared a touching moment from his journey to fame as he recalled performing at the London Palladium with his family cheering him on: "On my last tour we played a Sunday night at The London Palladium. Walking out on that stage, seeing my mum and dad in the audience was magical. They knew how much I had worked and for how long to get there."

He traced back his successful rise to prominence as one of Britain's favourite TV chefs to his early days training in France, reports .

It wasn't long before James made his mark in top-tier restaurants and at the young age of 24, he broke into television with 'James Martin: Yorkshire's Finest'.

But it is his regular appearances on ITV’s 'James Martin's Saturday Morning' and BBC's 'Saturday Kitchen' that have sealed his status as a culinary icon.

When not on screen, James runs his own pubs and restaurants, including esteemed names like The Lygon Arms and The Kitchen at Chewton Glen.
