MP News: Two traffic accidents claim the lives of nine devotees returning from Prayagraj Mahakumbh

Two separate traffic incidents in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur and Maihar districts on Tuesday morning claimed the lives of nine persons and injured five more as they returned from the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj. Seven people were murdered in the Jabalpur traffic disaster, while two more were killed in the Maihar tragedy.

Around 8:30 am, a truck and a minibus collided head-on in Jabalpur, close to Sihora town, resulting in a serious disaster. According to Jabalpur Collector Deepak Kumar Saxena, the minibus was transporting pilgrims from Prayagraj to Andhra Pradesh at the time of the collision. According to witnesses, the tragic crash occurred because the vehicle was traveling on the incorrect side of the roadway.

Several people were trapped inside the car, and seven passengers perished instantly. The superintendent of police and the district collector hurried to the scene of the accident after it happened. People who had been hurt were taken to the hospital and treated there.

According to KN Banjare, the in charge of the Nadan Dehat police station, two persons lost their lives and five others were injured in the Maihar accident after an unidentified car struck their SUV close to Kanchanpur hamlet on National Highway 30 at about four in the morning.

The SUV was traveling back to Indore from Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh. After receiving basic care at Amarpatan, the wounded were subsequently sent to Satna District Hospital. Manoj Vishwakarma (42) and Manju Sharma (32) were recognized as the dead. To find the offending car, police are examining CCTV video.

A mini-truck transporting pilgrims to Prayagraj collided with an SUV on the Satna-Chitrakoot State Highway on Sunday, resulting in three fatalities and ten injuries. The hit caused the vehicle to topple.

Officials named the dead as Manisha Patel (31), her son Jitendra Patel (11), and Mahendra Patel (52). In order to decide what to do next, authorities are looking at all three incidents.
