This man's plan to impress his family didn't quite go the way he expected.

If you've been single for a long time, you'll probably be accustomed to the constant questions you can get from your members about your love life. You might have been asked over and over again if you have a partner yet, and if you've reached a certain age, you might even find that your start hounding you about giving them grandchildren.

One man who had enough of his family's badgering decided to take matters into his own hands by hiring someone to pretend to be his for a weekend so that he could attend a family dinner in peace. But he got more than he bargained for once the work he paid for was over.

Sharing his story with the X account Fesshole - which posts anonymous stories that people send in - the man said he decided to pay for an escort to attend a family dinner with him and pretend to be his girlfriend. However, things took a turn after the weekend when she "developed a habit of stalking" him.

But what really shocked the man is that he "grew to like" the attention the woman was giving him, and their relationship eventually blossomed into something real.

He said: "I hired an escort to act like my girlfriend and come to a family dinner weekend at my parent's place. Afterwards, she developed a habit of stalking me. It was creepy at first. But I grew to like it. We get married in summer 2025."

Commenters on the post were quick to poke fun at the man's unlikely romance, with some sarcastically commenting on the "rock solid foundations" of their relationship. Others said they "couldn't see any issues" that might come up further down the line, while some also questioned whether the story was even true.

One person said: "I'm not sure you can describe stalking as a 'habit'. Picking your nose is a habit." Another added: "That's true romance!" While a third quipped: "Of all the things that never happened, this never happened the most."

Bizarrely, the man wasn't the only one who had a story to share about an escort either. Another man claimed he once ran into an awkward situation in which he began dating a woman whose sister turned out to be an escort he used to see.

He shared in the comments: "About 20 years ago, I decided to see an escort from a well-known agency. Roll on a year later, I started seeing a girl and two months into a relationship, I was invited to her parent's 40th anniversary - where she introduced me to her sister AKA, the escort."
