Obnews Tech Desk: Mark Zuckerberg, Meta CEO, recently discussed a legal battle in the case of blasphemy content on Facebook in Pakistan. He explained in an interview with Rogan how laws in various countries, which collide with the principles of free expression supported by American technical companies, pressurize to strictly control the material on global forums.
Zuckerberg mentioned an incident when someone in Pakistan posted a picture of Prophet Mohammed on Facebook and was considered to be blasphemy. After this, Zuckerberg was sued in Pakistan and an attempt was made to get him a death sentence. However, he said that this matter was not a matter of much concern for him, as he did not intend to go to Pakistan. Nevertheless, Zuckerberg believed that the situation was worrying in terms of personal security.
He also stated that there are laws in many countries that disagree with meta and other American companies, and these laws pressurize the platforms to control the content. He said that some governments work against freedom of expression and want social media companies to take action on issues that are unacceptable for them.
Zuckerberg also said that some governments threaten companies that if they do not follow their laws, they will be imprisoned. This situation is very dangerous according to Zuckerberg and the US government should protect American tech companies abroad.
In addition, Zuckerberg announced to change its fact-checking system on Meta's Facebook and Instagram. Now the meta will use a model called “community notes”, which is similar to the method adopted by Elon Musk's X (East Twitter).

Zuckerberg said that the Meta's old fact-checking system made a lot of mistakes and had a lot of sensorship, which was politically biased. After the US presidential election of 2024, Zuckerberg met Donald Trump and Meta also donated $ 1 million to Trump's inaugural fund.
