He also formed a political party called the National Party of India. He formed this party against the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. He was against the Emergency imposed by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Elections were to be held in 1977 when the emergency ended from the country. Then Dev Anand formed his party. He was the president himself. It was informed by holding a press conference at Hotel Taj on September 4, 1979 in Mumbai. At this party of Dev Anand, his brother Vijay Anand, famous producer director Vhi. Celebrities like Shantaram, GP Sippy, Shriram Vohra, IAS Johar, Atmaram, Ramanand Sagar, Dharmendra, Hema Malini went directly and indirectly. All of them elected Devanand as the president of the party in one voice. The address given on this party's primary membersship form was Shanti Shri, Doctor SS Rao Road, Parel, Mumbai.

Inspiration from this great personality in Bihar

Now the point of curiosity is that where and how did Dev Anand get inspiration to form a political party? Dev Anand thought about when and how. Actually, when Dev Anand came to Bihar to shoot the film Johnny Mera Naam, Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan i.e. JP had become famous all over India for his revolutionary role and thinking.

It is said that Dev Anand was very impressed with JP's thinking. Dev Anand took time out of the shooting of his film and met Loknayak Jayaprakash. There was a long conversation between these two. Devanand was politically very alert and was also a supporter of socialist ideas. Just this one meeting with JP inspired Dev Anand to walk on a political journey and after that Dev Anand formed the party in the name of the National Party of India.

The party was over

After joining this party of Dev Anand of all the big personalities of the film world, a large number of people started joining it. There was also a huge crowd in the party's rallies. Due to this, many other parties of the country also created trouble. It is said that some big film personalities were advised by the then Congress leaders that if the film industry is to be saved after the election, then stop this party. After this, all the active artists who were in this party of Devanand slowly went away. After this, Dev Anand found this party almost lonely and closed this party.

Shatrughan Sinha was also involved

The national award -winning film critic Vinod Anupam says, it is also known that Shatrughan Sinha, popularly known as Bihari Babu in the film world, was also very impressed by Dev Anand's ideas and he also joined this party of Devanand. .
