Recently, the Kerala government has issued new guidelines to give compensation related to human and wildlife conflict. Under these new rules, if someone's property is damaged in the attack of wildlife, then he will be given compensation of up to one lakh rupees. At the same time, if a person dies due to snake bite, then his family will get a compensation of four lakh rupees.

This decision has been taken by the Executive Committee of the State Disaster Management Authority, which was chaired by the Chief Secretary of the state Sharda Muralitharan. Earlier, death on the snake cut was not included in the compensation list, but now the government has also included it.

Emergency Operation Center created

The forest department has also decided to set up control room at the state and departmental level, for which a budget of Rs 3 crore 72 lakh has been allocated. This amount will be given at one time and through this, the functions and maintenance of emergency operation centers will be ensured.

Wildlife attacks are increasing

Incidents of wildlife attacks have increased in the state in recent times. Incidents of attacks of elephants, tigers and leopards are constantly coming to the fore. Some time ago, wildlife was also attacked by Indian cricketer Minnu Mani's relatives. Radha's wife Radha's wife was killed in the leopard attack. Recently, a 45 -year -old Sophia Ismail, a 45 -year -old in Idukki, was also crushed and killed by an elephant.

Government step

This step of the Kerala government will cause relief for those families who have lost their loved ones in wildlife attacks or whose property has been damaged. The state government has formed a committee of higher officials to deal with this problem, which will prepare plans to prevent these incidents.

This decision is a good step towards maintaining balance between wildlife and human life, so that not only human life, but also wildlife can be ensured.
