Citing Chinese media outlet QQ, Znews reported that Lee has confirmed that the wedding will take place this year immediately after Wong’s release from prison in early July. In preparation, he bought a pair of inexpensive, minimalist-style bracelets that Wong prefers.
Lee expressed his desire to live a simple life with Wong after her release, aiming to avoid the excessive attention and gossip that have previously surrounded them. He also mentioned that he does not expect Wong to work after her release and is prepared to support her financially.
Despite rumors that Lee had transferred properties to Wong to win her affection, he denied these claims, clarifying that he is not as wealthy as rumored due to asset transfers to his ex-wife following their divorce.
Wong, originally from mainland China, was arrested in Feb. 2024 for overstaying her Hong Kong tourist visa. Her trial began in May 2024, where she faced additional charges of using fake U.S. aviation college graduation certificates to fraudulently apply under Hong Kong’s Mainland Talents and Professionals Scheme.
In June 2024, she was sentenced to 25 months in prison for five offenses, including forgery and providing false information. Wong pleaded guilty and accepted her punishment.
Despite the setbacks, Lee remains committed to marrying her.
Lee is known for his roles in “The Condor Heroes,” “The Smiling, Proud Wanderer,” “Journey to the West,” and “Forensic Heroes.” He has three children from his first marriage in the 1970s, all older than Wong.
The couple, who first met when Lee was 66, initially planned to marry by the end of 2023 but delayed their wedding due to the death of Wong’s father.
