Starlink Internet Launched in Bhutan: Amid speculation that Elon Musk’s Starlink internet service will launch in India very soon the satellite internet service has been launched in neighboring Bhutan. Bhutan Information Communication and Media Authority (BICMA) has approved it to provide wireless satellite-based high-speed internet service in Bhutan. Starlink Service in Bhutan: A Big Change for Rural and Remote Areas With the launch of the internet service in Bhutan high-speed wireless internet is now available in remote and mountainous areas of the neighboring country. Till now traditional networks were not able to work properly in these remote areas. BICMA (Bhutan InfoComm and Media Authority) checked things like company registration appointment of local representatives and data privacy before licensing this service. It is worth noting that the service is available only for broadband internet direct satellite-to-mobile connection is not included in it.
