When Peter Andre married , he vowed to be the dad thatdidn't have.

The Cypriot singer, 51, met the glamour model in the Australian jungle when they appeared on together in 2004, and their whirlwind romance led to them tying the knot less than a year later. Katie was already mother to Harvey, who had an estranged relationship with his biological father, footballer Dwight Yorke, and Peter took on Harvey as his own.

Following their split, and through all of Katie's marriages, she has singlehandedly raised Harvey and is an incredibly proud mother. Harvey has a number of debilitating conditions, including autism, septo-optic dysplasia, ADHD and oppositional defiant disorder. The 22-year-old has a rare genetic condition, called Prader-Willi syndrome, which means he is always hungry.

Now, Katie fears Harvey may die. In a new interview, Katie emotionally revealed she is going to put Harvey, who weighs 28 stone, on weight-loss injections, with the hope being they can save his life. She confessed the situation with Harvey is "really serious" and explained how he is at risk of a heart attack.

Speaking to , Katie, 46, said: "He's putting on weight. It doesn't matter what we do. He can't put his shoes on without sweating. He can't walk far because he gets out of breath." She said it's all due to his weight and claimed doctors advised the jabs to give him a better and longer life as well as improve his health.

Katie has faced many challenges with Harvey and has always found it difficult to understand why his biological dad Dwight chose not to be part of his life.

When Peter married Katie in 2005, he promised to be a father figure to Harvey. In 2009, he told the Daily Mail: "I have been a real father of Harvey and he calls me Daddy. I guess that sticks in Dwight's throat."

As the years passed, Peter would post happy birthday messages for Harvey online, writing on his 15th birthday on : "Happy birthday to a very special boy. Hope you like your prezzies." After he separated from Katie, Pete shared how their special bond continued and said he would always have love for Harvey.

He wrote in his New! magazine column in 2017: "There have been a few times recently where he's been to my house and I've been to his. Harvey will always be special to me and I just want him to be happy. He's a great kid!"

Pete also shared in his column: "He's such a good-hearted boy, I see him a bit more now, which is amazing. He's just the best, I love him. There's always room for Harvey at our house. I always saw him as my own. There's a special place in my heart for him - he's very important to me and he's always welcome."

But the Mysterious Girl singer slipped out of Harvey's life later down the line, and Katie bemoaned that all of Harvey's male role models turned their backs on him. She wrote on Twitter: "When you divorce, you have to share the kids. But with Harvey, there's no one. Well, look, Dwight don't want to know. Someone else doesn't see him anymore. He's just got me, you know?"

In her 2017 book, Katie Price: Harvey and Me, the former glamour star shared more details about Pete's crumbling relationship with Harvey. She wrote: "The split from Pete really upset Harvey. It must have been frustrating for him at the time because he couldn't express how he felt. But now he can and he remembers a lot more than you'd think. It's really sad."

Katie claimed that Pete's visits to Harvey "fizzled out". She continued: "I began to notice a change in Harvey, I'd say things like, 'Do you want to go see Daddy Peter today?' and he'd shout, 'No!' So then I'd be like, 'But he has a cake waiting for you'. But he wasn't interested and he'd start kicking off, it's probably because the visits were starting to fizzle out and Harvey could sense that."

The reality TV star mentioned that Pete's name "stresses him out" But, she added: "Whenever Harvey saw Peter, he wanted to play a clip of the couple singing A Whole New World. Every single time, I want the ground to swallow me up. It's bad enough having to listen back to it, never mind haven't to listen back to it standing next to Pete!"
