Students in several states have received an extended break as school holidays have been prolonged due to various festivals and administrative decisions. Schools in West Bengal and Telangana will remain closed on February 13 and 14, 2025, in observance of Shab-e-Barat and Panchanan Barma Jayanti. During this period, government offices and educational institutions will also remain shut.

Reason for the Holiday Extension

Traditionally, Shab-e-Barat was observed with a holiday on February 14. However, since the festival date was officially set for February 13, an additional holiday was declared. Additionally, February 14 marks the birth anniversary of Thakur Panchanan Barma, leading to another day off for students. Since February 16 falls on a Sunday, schools will resume only after this extended break.

  • According to the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council, schools will remain closed on February 26 for a statewide public holiday, affecting banks, courts, and government offices.
