✔ Green peas – 1 cup

✔ Green chillies (finely chopped)-1-2
✔ Sugar – ½ tsp
✔ Salt – as per taste
✔ Garam Masala – 4 teaspoons
✔ Black Pepper Powder – 4 teaspoons
✔ Green coriander (finely chopped) – 2 tablespoons
✔ Lemon juice – 1 teaspoon

विधि (Step-by-Step Recipe)

1⃣ Prepare poha

  • First of all, wash the poha (chuda) thoroughly and squeeze the excess water and keep it on the side, so that it becomes a little soft.

Fry the peas 2⃣

  • Heat the ghee in a pan and fry it with a bay leaves and cumin seeds.
  • Now add chopped green chillies and grated ginger and fry for 20-30 seconds.
  • After this, add green peas, salt and a little sugar and mix well.
  • Cover it and let it cook on low flame for 4-5 minutes, so that the peas become well softened.

3⃣ Mix poha and add spices

  • When the peas become soft, add garam masala and black pepper powder to it.
  • Now add the poha and mix it with light hands, so that it is not broken.
  • Turn off the heat and add chopped green coriander, lemon juice and a little ghee and mix well.

Serve 4⃣

  • Remove the hot-hot Banarasi Chuda peas in a plate and serve with delicious tea.

✔ Do not wash the poha too much, otherwise it can be more wet.
✔ If you like spicy, you can increase the amount of green chillies.
✔ Using desi ghee makes its taste even more wonderful.
