Every Provident Fund (PF) account holder is given a Universal Account Number (UAN) by EPFO. Through this, the account holder can easily see any kind of details related to EPF, as well as do any work related to EPF with the help of this number. The importance of UAN is well known to the employed. But if the wrong member ID gets linked to someone's UAN, then it becomes very difficult.
In such a situation, now you can easily delete the wrong member ID. The Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) announced a new facility to EPFO members in a circular issued on January 17, 2025. Under this, they can delink any wrongly linked member ID in their UAN, which has been linked without their knowledge. If something like this is happening to you too, then understand here the method of delinking the wrong member ID, which has been shared by EPFO itself. But to delink the ID of any other member linked to UAN, it is important to keep in mind that your mobile number linked to Aadhaar is active.
Delink someone else's ID linked to UAN like this.
First login to the Unified Members Portal and submit the OTP.
After this, go to the View menu option and select Service History.
Go to it find the wrong ID linked to your UAN and click on Delink.
Click OK for confirmation.
Go to the next page and select the reason for delinking.
Now two Consent boxes will appear, on clicking which an OTP will come on your mobile linked to Aadhaar.
After this, submit that OTP. Now the delinked ID will not be visible in your service history.
