Delhi Cooch postponed, decided after March 19 meeting with the government; Announcement of farmers

On February 25, farmers have postponed the program of Delhi Cooch of 101 farmers from Shambhu border. Now further decision will be taken on the basis of the next round of talks with the central government on March 19. Farmers say that if the Center does not take concrete action on the demands in the March 19 meeting, then a decision will be taken to travel to Delhi on 25th. Farmers also say that the Punjab government should pass a resolution in the assembly on 12 demands and the draft of New Mandi policy.

Talking to reporters, state leader of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, Saravan Singh Pandher said that due to the meeting with the central government on March 19, the farmers' travel of farmers from Shambhu border has been postponed on 25 February. This batch of farmers was going to travel to Delhi under the leadership of senior farmer leaders Manjit Singh Rai and Balwant Singh Behramke. Pandher demanded the Bhagwant Maan government that a resolution should be passed in support of 12 demands from the assembly and sent to the Center.

'Posts of farmers' land in Gurdaspur should be stopped'

Farmer leader Saravan Singh Pandher at the Amritsar Press Club warned the Punjab government to deploy police force in Gurdaspur district and try to acquire land. He strongly objected to the forced acquisition of farmers' land under the Bharat Mala scheme and said that their land should not be occupied until the farmers get a fair price for their land.

He said that the government is occupying the land of farmers in Gurdaspur today, which the organization strongly opposed, it should be closed. He demanded Bhagwant Mann's government that the time of the current session of the assembly should be extended and the issues of the people should be discussed in it. He said that a resolution should be passed in favor of 12 demands of farmers and sent to the Central Government, a resolution should also be passed against the agricultural marketing draft and opposed it.

'Action should be taken on travel agents sending abroad'

Pandher asked all political parties to unite in favor of farmers and raise their demands. Saravan Singh Pandher has demanded from the Punjab government that strict legal action should be taken against the travel agents who sent the youth abroad in the case of the youth deeyed from the US. She said that on March 8, on the occasion of International Women's Day, Women's Day will be celebrated on a large scale during the ongoing march on different border.

He said that the government has been harassing traders, transporters and common people by constructing roads and walls for more than a year. He said that the issue of opening these roads was raised in the meeting held on February 22. He also demanded that the closed National Highway be opened so that people can get relief. Now everyone's eyes will be on the meeting to be held on March 19. When there will be a big meeting between the farmer leaders and the government regarding the demands of the farmers.
