Ration Card E-KYC: Big Update for Ration Card Holders! The process of e-KYC has become easy, now Aadhaar link will be done on mobile too!

Patna: Last date of Aadhaar linking (seeding) for ration card holders has been extended. Now it is mandatory to link your ration card with Aadhaar till 31 March 2025. The government has taken this decision to ensure that needy families are not deprived of food.
Linking to Aadhaar Why is it necessary?
- Aadhaar seeding is mandatory for every member registered in the ration card.
- If a member's Aadhaar is not linked, his name may be removed from the ration card and he may be deprived of food benefits.
- Earlier, the last date for Aadhaar linking was 31 December 2024, which has now been extended to 31 March 2025.
- To make the process of e-KYC easier, the government has also introduced the facility of Facial e-KYC, so that the beneficiaries can do e-KYC sitting at home from their mobile phones.
Government's big announcement for ration card holders
The Department of Food and Consumer Protection has requested all ration card holders to link the Aadhaar of every member registered in their ration card before 31 March 2025.
How to do e-KYC?
- Go to the nearest Public Distribution System (PDS) shop and get Aadhaar linked through the e-PoS machine.
- Now facial e-KYC facility is also available, so you can do e-KYC from mobile through Mera e-KYC App and AadhaarfaceRD App.
- This service is completely free and the beneficiaries will not have to pay any kind of fee.
By March 21, if the Aadhaar link is not done, the name will be removed!
If a member's Aadhaar is not linked by 21 March 2025, then his name can be removed from the ration card from 1 April 2025. So all the beneficiaries should complete this process as soon as possible.
