Emerging Argentinian talent Ian Subiabre is being touted for a move to - and his new agent is en route to England to thrash out talks.
The River Plate forward has reportedly been on the radar of Alysson Marins, a South American scout for the Blues, for some time. However, the odds of a transfer appear to have increased after the player had a change in representation.
And the man now in charge of Subiabre's career is none other than former Argentina international Claudio Caniggia. It's understood Subiabre cut ties with Herman Bernan when their contract expired, and ex-River Plate and Boca Juniors forward Caniggia is now calling the shots.

That's after a photo of the pair stood arm-in-arm made the rounds on social media. And Caniggia is believed to be making his way to west London to discuss the prospect of Caniggia making the move to Stamford Bridge.
Subiabre earned considerable plaudits after scoring three goals in six starts at the recent Under-20 South American Championship. Argentina's youth just missed out on the title after a dramatic defeat to Paraguay on the last day of the competition, finishing as runners-up behind bitter rivals Brazil.
The 18-year-old's contract at River comes with a release clause valued at €30million (£25m). However, journalist Pablo Sager recently told DSports he believes Chelsea will be able to negotiate a deal for a lesser fee should they advance their interest in the player.
As well as impressing at the U20 South American Championship, Subiabre has made his mark for River Plate's reserves. The diminutive 5'6" forward has scored seven goals and recorded eight assists in 30 appearances for the Argentinian giants' secondary squad, though he's yet to rack up significant minutes for the senior squad.
Former Manchester City defender Martin Demichelis - now in charge of River - has hailed his gem in the past and said last year: “We spent all of last year looking down [at the youth divisions]. Ian Subiabre, Mastantuano, they showed what they could do at the [Under-17] World Cup and we decided they should join our pre-season."
And Subiabre has another ex-City star for inspiration, citing Julian Alvarez as an idol of his back in 2023: "Julian Alvarez is an extraordinary player. For me, he is an example. He has skill, he is a goalscorer and he is constantly pressing. He understands the game perfectly."
Caniggia - who represented Argentina on 50 occasions and has amassed a growing stable of stars - moved to the UK himself in 2000. It was towards the end of his career that the attacker first joined Dundee before going on to win the Scottish Premiership, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups with Rangers.
The 58-year-old became a cult figure at Ibrox, just as he did with previous employers like River, Boca and Atalanta. And it appears he may be eager for his latest recruit to experienced British life judging by how quickly talk of a move to Chelsea has escalated following the change of agent.
