Good news for Maharashtra government employees! The state government has approved a 12% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA), bringing relief to lakhs of employees amid rising inflation. The hike will be effective from July 1, 2024, and employees will also receive 7 months’ DA arrears along with their February 2025 salary.
📌 The previous DA was 443%, which has now been increased to 455%.
📌 The increased DA will be paid in cash with the February 2025 salary.
📌 Employees will also receive arrears from July 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025.
A senior official from the State Finance Department confirmed that approximately 17 lakh government employees will directly benefit from this decision, improving their salaries and financial stability.
💰 The Maharashtra government has allocated funds for this DA hike in its budget.
🏛️ The increase will also apply to Zilla Parishad employees and grant-in-aid institutions.
📢 The financial support for these employees will be provided through the respective aid schemes.
This decision will provide major relief to employees, particularly amid rising inflation and increased cost of living.
🎉 Central government employees and pensioners may also receive good news before Holi (March 14, 2025).
📅 The first DA increase for 2025 will be effective from January 1, 2025.
