Maha Kumbh Trains: The Indian Railways has made a lot of preparations in front of the last holy bath of Maha Kumbh, and they want to run more than 350 extra trains this Wednesday. Authorities anticipate that a sizable number of devotees from many states, including West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand, would go to Prayagraj.
Many devotees are anticipated to swarm Sangam following Mahashivratri, ready to go home after taking an Amrit bath. There will probably be large crowds at train terminals as a result of this increase in passengers. As a result, the railways have given authorities and employees instructions to continue being watchful in their work at this hectic time. The Railways used more than 360 trains to successfully convey over 20 lakh passengers on Mauni Amavasya.
Even after Mahashivratri, the railways are ready for heavy traffic, and extra trains are planned if needed. To meet the demand, more rakes are waiting at neighboring stations.
Passenger volumes are abnormally high at certain stations. Increased activity has been observed in Patna, Danapur, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Sasaram, Katihar, Khagaria, Saharsa, Jaynagar, and Darbhanga in Bihar. Similarly, there has been an increase in passengers at the stations in Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Kanpur, Gonda, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, and Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh. Chitrakoot, Jabalpur, Satna, and Khajuraho stations in Madhya Pradesh are also much busier than normal.
Many devotees have left Jharkhand for Prayagraj, traveling from Dhanbad, Bokaro, Ranchi, Garhwa, and Medninagar. The Railways have put in place a number of security, lodging, ticket distribution, and train service precautions in response to the Mahashivratri crowds.
More than 3,000 members of the Railway Protection Force and more than 1,500 members of the Railway Commercial Department are stationed at stations close to Prayagraj to guarantee the safety of passengers. In addition, 22 dog and bomb disposal teams, two Women Railway Protection Special Force contingents, and 29 Railway Protection Special Force contingents are on standby.
The Railways exceeded the original goal of 13,500 trains by the 42nd day of the Maha Kumbh, operating nearly 15,000 trains, including a sizable number of special services.
