Both of them were students at the National School of Drama. The duo became friends and soon fell in love. Two years later when Neelima turned 17 she decided to tie the knot with Pankaj Kapur who was 21 years old at that time. The couple was blessed with a son whom they named Shahid Kapoor. Today Shahid is one of the biggest actors in the industry. In an interview Neelima broke her silence on her divorce from Pankaj Kapur.
