Maharashtra Cyber Cell taped social media influencer Apoorva Makhija, also known as The Rebel Kid, on Tuesday in response to the growing controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent.

An FIR against Makhija, YouTubers Ashish Chanchlani, Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and others connected to the India’s Got Latent event was filed earlier this month, which sparked the issue. Allegations of encouraging vulgarity and having sexually explicit conversations during the publicly available YouTube program served as the basis for the FIR.

Ashish Chanchlani and Ranveer Allahbadia, meanwhile, went to the Maharashtra Cyber Cell on Monday to provide testimony about the case.

More than 30 people have allegedly been called in for interrogation by the Maharashtra cyber police after filing a formal complaint against them. The ‘India’s Got Latent’ program presenter, comedian and YouTuber Samay Raina, has not yet had his statement recorded by the police.

After Ranveer Allahbadia made some offensive comments on the program, it came under fire.
“Would you rather watch your parents… or join in once and stop it forever?” the podcaster questioned a candidate during a visit on “India’s Got Latent show.” Soon after, the video went viral online, and social media users criticized Allahbadia for his obscene comments.

After the commotion, Allahbadia apologized in public. He admitted that his remarks were offensive and inconsiderate in a video posted on his X account.

He acknowledged that the comment lacked humor in addition to being improper. Allahbadia apologized for his error of judgment and said that humor was not his strong suit. Not only was my remark improper, it was also unfunny. I’m only here to apologize; comedy is not my specialty,” Allahbadia said.

He pledged to utilize his position more sensibly going forward in response to worries about his impact on younger viewers. “Family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect,” he said.
