Myanmar actor and model Paing Takhon, who rose to international fame as “Myanmar’s hottest monk,” announced on Instagram that he is now officially married.

His wife Linn Mya Phu is the 29-year-old daughter of oil tycoon San Linn, chairman of the Myanmar Edible Oil Dealers’ Association.
Paing shared the news on Tuesday, posting photos on Instagram that show him and Linn signing their marriage documents, as well as snapshots with their parents.
“Today, my fiancée became my wife,” Paing wrote in the caption of the post.
The couple first revealed their relationship in August 2024 and later announced their engagement in January.
Paing, aged 28, launched his career as a model in 2014 and soon became a brand ambassador for Oppo and Sunkist. He made his acting debut in 2017, starring in the Myanmar film “Midnight Traveler.”
In 2019, he gained widespread attention as “Myanmar’s hottest monk” after photos of him in monk robes, showcasing his clean-shaven look and muscular build, went viral.

That same year, Paing was recognized as one of “Myanmar’s Top 10 Actors” by The Myanmar Times and topped TC Candler’s “Most Handsome Faces” list in 2021.
According to The Straits TimesPaing had entered a monastery for a 10-day retreat, a traditional rite of passage for men in Myanmar.
In 2021, he was arrested for protesting against Myanmar’s military junta and sentenced to three years in prison. However, he was released a year later after receiving a state pardon, as reported by 8days.
