The franchise announced to choose its former player as a mentor on social media on Thursday 27 February.

Kevin Peterson became Delhi's mentor

Kevin Peterson will work closely with the head coach Hemang Badani, which has been included in the team for the new season. After separating from Ricky Ponting at the end of the IPL 2024 season, Delhi Capitals have completely changed their coaching structure. Badani was part of his auction process, in which the former Indian all -rounder played a big role in achieving some smart purchases. However, Delhi has not yet announced its captain for the upcoming season.

Peterson captained Delhi

If we talk about Kevin Pietersen's international cricket, he has scored more than 13,000 runs. He has also scored 32 centuries with the bat. He also led Delhi Capitals (then known as Delai Dardvils) in the 2014 season. Unfortunately, Delhi finished last with just two wins in that season.

Peterson played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2009 and 2010 before playing for capitals in 2012 and 2014. His best season in the IPL came in 2021 in which he scored 305 runs for Delhi in 2012 with a century. Peterson ended his IPL career at Rising Pune Supergiant in 2016.
