You get 30 days time
Let us tell you, any driving license in India is issued for a fixed time only. After its expiry, you are given a month i.e. 30 days. The driving license has to be renewed within these 30 days. If you apply for renewal after 30 days, then you will have to pay a fine. The fee for renewal within the stipulated time is Rs 400, but if you renew the license one month after the expiry date, then you may have to pay up to Rs 1500.
Driving license is valid for 40 years
Under the Motor Vehicle Act, the driving license in India is valid for 40 years only. After this you have to apply for renewal. After 40 years, the driving license is made valid for 10 years. After this it has to be renewed every 5 years. If you do not apply for renewal within one year of the expiry date of the license, then the driving license is considered cancelled. After this, you will have to go through the entire process again to get a driving license.
