New methods of online fraud are now able to blow up cyber criminals from your bank account without OTP and PIN. This new method is surprising everyone, and if you are not cautious, you too can be a victim of this fraud. Know how a slight negligence can prove to be expensive for you.
Recently, a 26 -year -old girl from New Delhi saved herself from being a victim of a great deception. She had bought an HP laptop from 'Croma', and a few days later she received a message from an unknown number. The message claimed that he had won a gift voucher, and he would have to share his bank details to claim it.
The woman suspected the message, as it had both 'Croma' and 'Vijay Sales', and it was written that she had shopped through Vijay Sales. Due to his suspicion, he did not click on the link, which saved him from being a victim of fraud. If she was not cautious, her bank account could have been vacant. Such fraud cases are continuously increasing, in which cyber criminals take out money from people's bank account in minutes without any confidential information.
Now cyber criminals do not even understand the need for OTP or ATM PIN. They send fake messages, promising gifts or discounts. As soon as the person clicks on that link, his bank account gets empty.
In this type of fraud, criminals use various websites or social media platforms to steal phone number and other personal information. Then, they send such messages using this information, which are associated with a recent shopping or banking service. If a person is not cautious, he can easily be a victim of cheating.
Now a new way of cheating is also being used, which is called 'call merging'. In this, criminals call themselves as representatives of an eminent institution or person. Subsequently, the hunt has another call, which the thugs ask to merge, calling it a 'VIP number'. As soon as the hunting calls the call, the thugs use their OTP, banking code, or the password to the social media account and use them to fly money or hack the account.
Cyber criminals are now using more advanced techniques. They send APK (Android Application Package) or RAT (Remote Access Trojan) files to people. If a person accidentally downloads them, then his entire mobile goes into fraud's hand, and that person can be a victim of this fraud.
