The daughter of late actor Gene Hackman has spoken out for the first time since her father's death. The 95-year-old and his wife Betsy Arakawa, 64, were found dead on Wednesday in separate rooms of their $3.8 million Santa Fe, New Mexico home.
One of Gene's three children, Leslie Anne Hackman has now broken her silence on the triple tragedy, as one of the family's dogs also died. Speaking to Dail Mail, the grieving daughter admitted that it had been a "few months" since she had last seen and has even heard from her reclusive father despite them being close.
She shared that "everything was normal and everything was good" and "despite his age, he was in very good physical condition". The daughter also said: "He liked to do Pilates and yoga, and he was continuing to do that several times a week. So he was in good health."
Leslie explained that they were still waiting on more information from the police force regarding the cause of death. Currently, the couple's death remains a mystery.
However Leslie and her sister, Elizabeth Jean Hackman, have speculated that their father and stepmother may have been killed by inhaling toxic fumes due to a carbon monoxide leak.
