Commuters on the Central Railway’s main line faced delays during the evening rush hour on Friday after a fire broke out near the tracks between Ambivali and Titwala stations.

According to Central Railway (CR) officials, the fire started at 4:12 PM when dry grass beside the railway tracks caught fire. The flames quickly spread, damaging signal and telecommunication wires, leading to two blank signals in the affected section.

As a result, train services on the route were severely impacted, causing delays and inconvenience to passengers. After receiving information, the concerned officials rushed to the site and brought the situation under control. The signals were rectified by 6:00 PM, and normal train movement resumed.
