Phulera Dooj 2025: On March 1, 2025, devotees will celebrate Phulera Dooj, a revered Hindu holiday. Additionally, commemorate this day as Radha-Krishna Vivah Utsav since it is said in the revered Hindu texts, the Brahma Vaivarta Purana and the Garga Samhita, that both deities were married on this day in front of Lord Brahma.
The stories of Lord Krishna and Radha Rani are central to the holy site of Bhandirvan in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. Bhandirvan is a sanctuary because of two important locations: Vanshivat, where Krishna’s mesmerizing flute playing called out Radha Rani and the Gopis for the heavenly Maharaas dance, and Radha Krishna Vivah Sthali, where Lord Brahma conducted the holy marriage. These websites captivate followers by bringing the holy love tale to life.

Local mythology states that Lord Brahma served as the priest who performed the marriage ceremony between Radha Rani and Lord Krishna. Only 10 million of the couple’s close friends and family, including Sakhis, animals, and natural spirits, were present at this exclusive wedding. To emphasize the value of “Parakiya rasa” (love without societal bounds) above “Svakiya rasa” (marriage relationship), the union was kept secret.
According to texts such as the Garga Samhita and the Brahma Vaivarta Purana, Nanda Baba took baby Krishna to Bhandirvan so that cows may graze. An unexpected storm caused Radha Rani and Krishna to have a wonderful meeting. When Shri Radha Rani appeared in her glorious form, Nanda Maharaj gave her the baby. A castle materialized as she kissed the baby, and Shri Krishna changed into a dashing young man. He confessed his love for Radha Rani, and Lord Brahma showed up to conduct their Gandharva Vivah, or marriage ceremony.
Following the event, Lord Krishna and Radha Rani engaged in enjoyable activities together. After a while, Shri Krishna transformed back into a baby and assured Radha Rani that they would return to Bhandirvan to enjoy their beloved activities. The baby Krishna was then returned to his mother, Yashoda Maiya, by Radha Rani.
